CLUB DETAILS

The White Horse Accordion Club (WHAC) grew from an initiative by Sue Coppard and Bob Norris in 1995. Letters were sent to all their accordion friends and acquaintances in the South West inviting them to "An Inner South West Accordionists Get Together". This was held in October 1995 and was such an overwhelming success that a second meeting was held in January 1996, and it was then decided to progress to forming of a club.

The newly formed and named White Horse Accordion Club held its first proper meeting in April 1996,and has met quarterly on Sunday afternoons ever since. Early meetings were held at the Old Bell Hotel in Warminster, but in July 1997 meetings were held held at The Laverton, Westbury, Wiltshire until 2004, when we moved to our current home at Westbury Leigh Hall, Westbury Leigh, Westbury, Wiltshire, ENGLAND. Membership costs £3 per year and there is a quarterly newsletter advertising forthcoming events, news, views, for sale etc. plus a report of the last meeting so that absent members can see what musical delights they missed.

MEETINGS:-For members and visitors, accordionists and non-playing enthusiasts entrance costs £3, ( under 16's free). We start at 2.00pm. and finish at 5.00pm.-ish.with a 'Playalong' from 1.30pm. for anyone who wants to warm up their fingers.

There is always the chance for anyone who wishes to play in the Playround. This gives players of all styles and abilities the chance to contribute, and adds to the wide musical variety in the meeting. We are a friendly club and if you wish to come along you will be made most welcome.
